Temple Plaque

Here is the reason I had to learn photoshop last week.  This temple plaque is the other craft I made up for Super Saturday.  I had Darin take some photos of the Columbia River temple then worked some magic in photoshop and came up with (what I think) is a really sweet picture.  I painted a 12x12 inch piece of wood and drilled some holes for the ribbon.  After I got it put together I felt like it still needed something and ended up putting the flower and vintage button in the corner.  It came out better than I had hoped.  What I also love about it is that this can be completely personalized.  It would be really cute with the wood painted white and some pink ribbon and a sticker that says I'm going there some day.  We are selling the prints if anyone is interested just leave a comment or send me an email.

  1. Thanks for the link on your blog to my giveaway...
i LOVE THIS! I'm going to copy it! I love how you used the photoshop brushes to frame it out and gave it an aged look!
We have a smaller temple here and I think this would be perfect for a photo of our temple in our home! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hey Jenn...I LOVE this craft, and I want to make some for family for Christmas! But I have some questions...did you print it on photo paper? Did you use Mod Podge to glue it on? Can't wait! Thanks. I love your blog by the way...you are so talented :)

  3. I printed 8x10's out from Costco. Make sure and click the lustre option. Costco does all sorts of sizes and are so cheap. And yep I did mod podge it on to the wood. I hot glued the button to the flower and then the flower to the picture. I'm teaching this for SS this Saturday and I think I'm gonna take some fabric flowers too!

  5. Hi, I stumbled upon this because my sister asked me to make something similar for her and I'm wondering if you used started with a stock photo of the temple or used your own, I know where I get photos printed they are huge sticklers for copyright laws. Or are the church's photos license free? It's so cute, I can't wait to try it, thanks!
